7.21.10 - 8.13.10 | Vision Math Classes - Mesa Valley Vision Math Classes
Who? Any student ready to take Algebra I, Algebra II, or Geometry.
When: Algebra I, 1:00-2:30, Mondays and Wednesdays, Vision office (tentative)
Geometry, 12:00-1:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays, Location TBD
Algebra II, 1:30-3:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays, Location TBD
Classes will begin the week of August 16th.
Textbooks: Algebra I Applications, Equations, Graphs

These two books are available at www.half.com for less than $10.00 each
Teaching Textbooks, Geometry
Both Algebra Classes require a graphing calculator, TI 83 or TI 84
Additional supply list will be sent to people signed up for the class
1 semester= $130
We need to begin sign ups immediately. Please email me the name of the student and which class they will attend. If we get over 10 Geometry students, we will begin a second class.
This is not a drop in—attendance and daily homework is not optional.
7.26.10 | Family Handbooks - The long-awaited sequel is coming soon... Family Handbooks will be ready toward the end of July. Copies will be available in either pdf format or hard copy. Your RC will contact you as soon as they are available.

8.16.10 | 2010-2011 School Year Kick Off - Please join other Vision learners and their families at the main shelter at Canyonview Park on Monday, August 16th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for our 2010-2011 school year kick off.
Please bring a dessert to share! We hope to see you there!
8.24.10 | Senior Information Night - You've finally arrived at being a senior - now what? Seniors and their parents are invited to an informative and useful evening about the year ahead. Topics we will cover include:
• What else do I need to do to graduate?
• How and when do I apply for college?
• What is a FAFSA?
• What about scholarships?
• How do I get a transcript for a college application?
• Can I participate in a ceremony and wear a cap and gown?
• What is a class rank and a GPA, and how do we do that in Vision?
This is also a great chance to meet the other seniors you are graduating with.
WHEN? August 24th, Tuesday, 6:00-7:30
WHERE? The Goodwill Building meeting room
WHO? Seniors and their parents, and anyone else interested in knowing what the senior year will entail
10.22.10 | Community Service Opportunity - Bake cookies or brownies and drop them off at the Vision office between 9:00-3:00 on October 22nd. Desserts will then be delivered to Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley later in that day. Learners who bake and drop off desserts will also earn a community service certificate for their efforts!
11.18.10 | Community Service Opportunity - For the 5 learners signed up to participate in this opportunity, meet Diane Rino, the Family Advocate at Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley located at 2853 North Avenue at 4:30!
